The words வலிதொலைந்து in stanza 21 are indicative of the destruction of the strength of the self, and the words அபிமானபங்கமாய் in stanza 22 show the death of self-love. These stanzas end with emphasizing the effect of God’s Kataksha or gracious look. That and not enjoyment or expiation is the true panacea of our sins.
