KANCHIPURAM DIVYADESAMS AND ROUTE MAP

தொண்டைநாடு திவ்யதேசங்கள்,KANCHIPURAM DIVYADESAMS AND ROUTE MAP, THONDAINAADU DIVYADESAMS, KANCHIPURAM DIVYADESAMS,KANCHIPURAM DIVYADESAM ROUTE MAP

There are 22 Divyadesams in Thondainaadu.
Out of these 14 Divyadesams are inside Kanchipuram. The 15th divyadesam Thirupputkuzhi, is situated on the Chennai-Bangalore highway, near Balu chettiar chathiram, 12 kms. away from Kanchipuram.

If you have leisure time, stay there for atleast 2 or 3 days and experience the architectural marvels in many temples, especially Varadharaja temple. If not, don't worry, Kanchipuram Divyadesams can easily be covered in a day. Recently, my friend gave me a torn, hand-drawn map. It was of great and perfect help when we visited Kanchipuram. As it was torn and not clear, I thought of modifying and re-designing it in english, which would be useful for all my blog readers, and also would be an easy web-reference. Hope this map will be useful to all who go for Kanchi Divyadesa Yathra.  In the days to come, I will post the details of all the temples in Kanchi Divyadesam.

We started at 5.30 A.M. in Chennai by car and reached back at 9.30 P.M. While coming from Chennai we started with Sri Pachai vannan and Sri Pavala vannan temples and ended with Vilakkoli Perumal temple and returned by uthiramerur road to Chennai.

The other side of the bus stand has 5 divya desams. Varadharaja Perumal temple will always be crowded. So, its better to visit all the other 4 on that side and then go to Varadharaja perumal temple. As we had visited Thiruputkuzhi earlier, we did not go during this pilgrimage.
Most of the temples are open only in the morning and evening. You can plan accordingly. Also expect heavy crowds and long queues during festival days. The order in which we went is given below and numbered as in the map:

13. Thiru Pavalavannam - Sri Pavala Vannar Temple
And Thiru Pachchai vannar temple(Abimana sthalam)
Though Pachai vannar temple is an abimana sthalam and not a Divyadesam, it is believed that these 2 temples should be visited together, without leaving the other.
14. Thiru Nilathingalthundam - Sri Nilathingal Thundathan Perumal Temple
(Inside Ekambareshwar temple)
12. Thiruppaadagam - Sri Pandava Thoodhar Temple
11. Thirukkalvanoor - Sri Adhi Varaha Perumal Temple
(Inside Kamakshi Amman temple)
7. Thiru Ooragam (Ooragathaan) - Sri Ulagalantha Perumal Temple
8. Thiru Neeragam (Neeragathaan) - Sri Jagadeeshwarar Temple
9. Thirukkaaragam - Sri Karunakara Perumal Temple
10. Thirukkaarvaanam - Sri Thiru Kaarvaanar Temple
(7,8,9,10 - Ulagalantha Perumal Temple Complex)
6. Thiru Parameshwara Vinnagaram - Sri Vaikunda Perumal Temple

After this we went to Srimath Andavan Ashramam, had a darshan of HHSrimad Andavan who was staying there, took some rest until 3 P.M. and continued again for the other temples. We went to Varadharaja Perumal temple first. It was crowded as usual, but we had a good darshan. Varadharaja Perumal temple will always be crowded. So, I feel its better to visit all the other 4 on this side of the bus stand and then go to Varadharaja perumal temple.

4. Thiruthanka (Thoopul) - Sri Deepa Prakasar Perumal Temple
5. Thiruvelukkai - Sri Azhagiya Singar Perumal Temple
2. Ashtabuyagaram (Ashtabujam) - Sri Aadhikesava Perumal Temple

3. Thiruvekka - Sri Yathothakaari Temple - Sonnavannam seidha perumal
1. Thirukachi (Kanchipuram) - Sri Varadharajar Temple

15. Thirupputkuzhi - Sri Vijayaraghava Perumal Temple

The 15th divyadesam, Thirupputkuzhi - Sri Vijayaraghava perumal, is situated on the Chennai-Bangalore highway, near Balu chettiar chathiram, 12 kms. away from Kanchipuram.

Hope this post will be useful to all who go for Kanchi Divyadesa Yathra. Wishing you a blessed yathra.
